“Just as Jesus created wine from water, we humans are
capable of transmuting emotion into music.”
- Carlos Santana
Music is an omnipotent
entity that has the power to transform people. As such, it can change
individuals and hence, it is capable to bring about changes across the society
as well. An ideal society is the one where individuals – irrespective of their
creed, colour and social status, etc. – have ample scopes of improving their
living conditions by respectable means. In this context, the aspect of job
generation attains significant position in contemporary India. Especially, with
a huge population that multiplies itself at exponential rate, providing
respectable livelihood to this huge volume of masses is undeniably challenging.
There are scores of people
in our country and to be more precise, in our beloved city of Kolkata who
·
Do not get two
square meals a day
·
Are deprived of
any medical attendance at times of sickness and
·
Lack a proper
roof above their heads, etc.
In this severely
poverty-stricken backdrop, free music education
for underprivileged is an excellent way to serve the mankind. Social
inequality is the prime factor the triggers insurgency. Providing music
education for free to the downtrodden is an effective way to stem the disparity
and restore consistency among different social groups.
As such, children from the
marginal section of the society who grow up in acute adversities are known to
suffer from low morale and sever isolation. As such, these children
·
Either turn
recluse and turn towards various kinds of immoral addictions including drugs or,
·
Turn into
criminals, committing heinous crimes
Extensive researches have
revealed, early exposure to music and education is the most effective remedy to
save these souls from practical annihilation. However, formal training in music
– in particular – is pretty expensive affair.
Thankfully, there are many
NGOs and renowned music schools that are providing a commendable service to the
society in this context. These organizations – operating across the entire city
– provide extensive musical training to underprivileged children around
respective localities. This overall effort is undeniably an excellent way to
contribute to a better tomorrow for everyone.
